My name is Rachel Grimes. I am from the Midwest, USA.   I have lived in Costa Rica now for almost 3 years, and one year Tijuana, Mexico. I was born in Manassas, Virginia. I have been blessed with many opportunities to travel, study, and work abroad. I have worked with YWAM for about 4 years off and on, beginning in the end of 1999 with my first out of the country missions trip to Ensenada, Mexico. I then did my DTS in Heredia, Costa Rica, and my Children at Risk School in Recife, Brazil a year later. God lead me back to Costa Rica in 2008 to help pioneer the CRS in San Jose. I staffed/co-lead the next CRS in Costa Rica in 2010. After a series of outreaches and helping to pioneer the 1st CRS in Tijuana, Mexico, I have arrived back in San Jose, Costa Rica where I will be leading the third CRS in July, 2011.

My heart is, and has always been, working with children at risk, specifically with street children. I had the opportunity to work in ministries caring for street children in Brazil and Colombia. I believe God has put my heart there in order  to continue to work with children and be an advocate to restore their lives and to their families.

I was born in Puntaranes, but grew up in Liberia, Costa Rica. In 2008 I did my DTS in San Jose and for our outreach we went to the Caribean (within Costa Rica) and to Venezuela. In this time, something began to stir within me for children at risk, as we helped in many ministries that work with street children and children who had high-risk family situations. When I returned from my outreach, I continued to pray to ask God to see what God wanted for me, and as a result I applied for the Children at Risk School in San Jose in 2009 and my outreach was to Bogota, Colombia and Jaco, Costa Rica. In 2010 was my 1st time Staffing the CRS in Costa Rica after that I went to Tijuana to take the Leadership Training School & this last January 2011 I help to pioneer the first CRS in Tijuana.

I am currently staff for the CRS and my prayer and dream is to be able to form a team working towards and focusing on Latinamerican children and the understanding of their way of life. We want to see this light in the middle of the darkness and even more in all of what God allows us to experience day by day when we look for more of His presence....
Thank you for your prayers... Pura Vida and Tuanis (Costa Rican sayings... meaning basically pure life and too nice)

I am Isaac Montero from Costa Rica.  I have been a Christian for the past 7 years and joined YWAM in 2007 when I did my DTS which took me to India and China on outreach.  My heart is for the people of India and to see them come to know Jesus and find their value in Him.  Since my DTS I have done my Leadership Training School in Holland, Foundations of Community Development and Children at Risk in order to learn how to better serve in Asia.

I grew up a child at risk myself when my dad died when I was six years old and then left in poverty with an abusive step dad and my mom.  I have been working since I was twelve, trying to keep food on my families table.  God really molded my heart to love children at risk after I took the course in 2010 and to live my life fighting for them.  I got married on December 11, 2010 to a wonderful missionary, Heidi from the US who has also served in India and also has a heart to fight for justice and love upon those who are without a voice.  We plan to return to India to start a ministry working with children at risk in the next few years.

I went to the University of Connecticut and graduated in 2007 with a degree in Psychology. After this, I managed a clothing store for a year, and co-led the youth group at my church before doing my DTS during the summer of 2008 in San Diego. In spring of 2009, I joined staff at the San Diego/Baja base and had a great time commuting between San Diego, Tijuana, and Ensenada (Mexico) as part of my ministry, working as a personal assistant to the COO of the San Diego Baja base for almost two years. I completed my Children at Risk School in April of 2011 at the Tijuana base, and have joined the Children at Risk School staff and the Metro Ministries team after a brief outreach in Jaco.

I was born in a Christian family in Guatemala City. Growing up I had the blessing of being in a healthy environment, going to a Christian bilingual school, and experiancing the different social classes and circles because of my dad's job. Since I can remember I had the desire to be a missionary and to travel. I did DTS in Guatemala when I was 17 and did outreach in the jungle of Nicaragua. During DTS I felt an even stronger calling to missions, but as soon as I went back home some family issues, that I went through that made me loose myself for years. It wasn't until 2008, with the help of friends and God, that I pulled myself together. Ever since I have been working with my photography and life in issues concerning social injustice and have made YWAM San Jose my home.
